Tuesday June 3 2025 - Ukraine’s bold drone offensive on Russian airfields serves as a strategic win and a strong statement against aggression, offering hope for a fair resolution.
Ukraine’s recent drone offensive into Russian territory brings a much-needed sense of hope at a time when morale has been low, even bordering on hopelessness. The Guardian out of the UK does a wonderful job highlighting the operation under the headline: Operation Spiderweb: a visual guide to Ukraine’s destruction of Russian aircraft.
The hope comes after years of inaction from the West, which has struggled to effectively counter Vladimir Putin’s advances since the occupation of Crimea. The lack of decisive support has only added to the frustrations felt by Ukrainians.
Tuesday April 12, 2022 - Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is fighting to protect basic human rights and has come together as a strong nation in response to the war, while seeking more international support.
Compounding these challenges, Donald Trump’s continued downplaying of the aggression and his tendency to place blame for Putin’s invasion on Ukraine only exacerbate the situation. This narrative undermines the reality of Ukraine’s struggle against unprovoked aggression.
Saturday September 28, 2024 - Donald Trump aims to end the violence on day one of his Presidency, even if it means making significant concessions to Putin for a quick resolution, a stance evident during his 2024 campaign that many of his voters accepted.
Additionally, the humanitarian crisis deepens with the systematic removal of thousands of Ukrainian children and the targeting of civilians. The conflict has also resulted in the tragic slaughter of many young, impoverished Russians, who are sent to fight for Putin’s ambitions. More than a million lives have been lost in this brutal conquest, with countless others enduring injuries and suffering the long-term consequences of war.
Tuesday August 13, 2024 - Vladimir Putin's unlawful actions are the main cause of the bloodshed in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, resulting in immense suffering and loss of life on both sides.
In this context, Ukraine’s latest military success is even more significant, showcasing their resilience and determination to push back against ongoing threats. It serves as a stark reminder of their capability to strike and potentially shift the dynamics of the conflict while highlighting the profound human cost of this war.
Substack is a great platform for me as a cartoonist. I'm mindful of the layoffs hitting many talented people, but I'm keeping a positive outlook. Take a look at the animation of my June 3, 2025, cartoon, and thanks for your support!
Good one! Trump keeps putting his foot in his mouth. Trump doesn't have any uranium coming from the US. Canada, Botswana, Russia, and Kazakstan are the producers of it. I guess you could say he doesn't have the cards.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and your great cartoons!
Russia‘s aggression needs to be stopped by all means. They commit war crimes en mass against the civilians of Ukraine. Ukraine deserves our solidarity in their brave fight for freedom and sovereignty!
