It's 2025, and some people are still denying climate change. After all the evidence and debate, if someone is still arguing against it, they're probably putting money before the planet.
Talking to these deniers is frustrating because you'll hear the same old excuses. It's like they're either ignoring the facts or just don't care.
Look at Donald Trump, he and other conservatives often dismiss sustainable development, focusing on profit over the environment.
The New York Times had a piece on the weekend titled The U.S. under Trump: Alone in its Climate Denial. Not quite. Here in Ontario, Doug Ford is similar, pushing development without considering the environmental impact. He hasn’t learned from his Greenbelt fiasco, and it’s not helped that voters in this province have short memories.
We do need development, but it has to be smart and responsible. If our leaders can't handle that, then it's time to rethink who we're electing.
